ADA Statement

GlassRoots is committed to making our studios and programs accessible to all. GlassRoots does not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission or access to its programs or activities. All studios, gallery exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations on the first floor of our building are accessible to patrons using wheelchairs and walkers. Upon request, with two weeks’ notice, information will be made available in alternative formats such as large print, recorded audio format, computer disc, or via GlassRoots’ website.

Currently, some academic-based classes, and overflow studio space, are on our 2nd level, which is accessible by stairs only. GlassRoots is committed to eliminating physical barriers to its services. Upon advanced request, the organization will relocate a class or workshop to an alternative location to accommodate patrons with disabilities.

Some glassworking requires physical dexterity. Our staff is committed to giving participants the richest experience possible — advance conversations to address any accommodations needed help us to do that.

Wheelchair accessible parking is available in the public (pay) parking lot across the street from the entrance to the building. There is no parking permitted on Bleeker Street, but patrons may be dropped off at our front door prior to parking.

If a patron requires other special accommodations to assist with this or other disabilities, GlassRoots requires a request in writing by mail, fax or email. All requests must be received 15 business days in advance of the program, event or visit.
