Teen Summer Experiences 2024
Looking for a summer experience your teen will never forget?
Then look no further than GlassRoots – Newark’s Glass Art Center – and delve into our one-week glass art intensive!
Make glass art all day in our five different studios including our glowing Hot Shop. Your teen will be engaged in a hands-on, action-packed experience that explores the full array of glassmaking. Each day, students will work on individualized projects of their choosing while learning techniques in glassblowing, flameworking, jewelry-making, mosaics, stained glass and more.
We welcome youth ages 12 – 17. See you in the studio!
Sample Day:
Monday- Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm
9:00 – 12:00: Glassblowing
12:00 – 12:30: Lunch
12:30 – 2:30: Flameworking | Jewelry-Making
2:30 – 4:30: Mosaics | Stained Glass | Etching | Fusing | Image transfers
About our Staff:
All summer staff is American Red Cross CPR and first aid training certified
All courses are led by Tier 1 Teachers
Tier 1 Teachers: Professional artists and/or teachers with degrees in fine arts
Classrooms also include Tier 2 Teachers in Training (working at GlassRoots for 6 or more months)
