Lilian “Phoenyx” Ojo
Phoenyx is a Nigerian-American interdisciplinary artist based in Newark, New Jersey. Working with vibrant color, imagined realities and dreamlike forms, she takes a playful yet intentional approach to exploring perception and connection. As a first-generation American and older sister to a brother with Autism, she draws from her personal and professional experiences with neurodivergent communities to create work that honors complexity, presence and the nuances of relational awareness.
Phoenyx’s practice uplifts diverse perspectives, cultural memory and the sacred, intimate moments woven into everyday life, often blurring the line between the real and imagined. Beyond the studio, she curates programs & exhibitions centered on accessibility, imagination, and expression, fostering community and creativity wherever she goes.
